JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – Residents in Belhaven are concerned about the latest spike in crime and their situation — the break in’s doesn’t appear to be prevented. Burglars had been hitting unlocked automobiles and houses throughout the day and taking valuables. Residents met Monday night to talk about methods to lessen break-ins. There had been thirteen burglaries and attempted burglaries in recent weeks, with three just closing weekends.
Jennifer Welch of Belhaven Residential stated, “Even though we’re very impressed with the quantity of JPD presence we’ve had inside the ultimate week and a 1/2, we assume that it’s going to be acquaintances who are going to look a person suspicious, especially if these people are taking walks. We’re asking associates to understand approximately who’s inside the neighborhood and what’s happening.”
Belhaven Residential, which owns several rental homes in the location, leads the charge to shield residents. They’re reminding human beings to always keep their doors, home windows, and vehicles locked. They’re also asking humans who want to file something suspicious and said that associates should appear for their neighbors.
